Science

 WHAT: This week the year 5/6 have been involved in some science.
SO WHAT: This week we have been involved in science for this weeks integrated learning topic. Our class ( room 10 ) have been to 3 classes for science already because we do this thing how one day say we might go to room 5 and then the next day we might go to room 11 for science and today (9.11.16) we are going to room 24. So far we have learnt about the water cycle,planets,the earths layer. Did you know that mars has got 2 moons.
NOW WHAT:I think that I would like to learn more about the earths layer because it sounds really interesting.

Character day!

WHAT: I have been involved in literacy week in term 4 by...
SO WHAT: I have been involved in literacy by dressing up as a character and who do you think I dressed up as? Well I can tell you if you keep reading well I dressed up as...  Thing 3 from Dr. Suess and some of my other friends dressed up as other characters from the same story.
NOW WHAT:My Asttle gap for writing was vocabulary and punctuation and now I'd like to make sure I try and focus on my gaps when I write my next story.

cycle safety

Te reo

WHAT:I have been learning in Te Reo and attending a Hui on Fridays.
So What: This year in Te Reo we have learnt some Maori phrases,sentences and words that might be helpful in life for example Ka taea ahau te heare Ki te wharepaku? that means: can I please go to the bathroom?
Also: aroha Mai. which means: i'm sorry. koa= please. That is from our Te Reo phrases of the fortnight.
Days of the week: Monday = Rahina Tuesday = Ratu Wednesday = Raapa Thursday = Rapare Friday = Ramare Saturday = Rahoroi Sunday = Ratapu.
Now What: I probably still need help with pronouncing some of the phrases, sentences, and words.

Lincoln primary technology

What: We  had a go at some of the technology at Lincoln.

So what: at Lincoln primary we got split into big groups of 10 and then we got started into the technology.
so my group was called the blue group the first activity we (the blue group) did was sewing it was really awesome because we made emoji's it was very tricky and tough, the hardest thing in sewing for me was trying to knot the needle and thread (so basically getting ready to thread in threw the fabric) and it was also very tricky because we only had about half an hour on each activity then we did 3D printing then last but not least food technology.My favourite was probably sewing.

Now what: I am looking forward  to doing more cool stuff like this in the future like this I would probably be most exited for sewing again because I made this really awesome emoji.

Winter sport post!!!

                                

                                    WHAT: I have been involved 

       winter sport this year.

    so what: my highlights at winter sport would be... getting to know my team mates more. Also being a part of the team. And it was awesome how all of us were getting to know more of our strengths and weaknesses in netball witch was really cool. When we would be versing another really good netball  team we would always partner one of our team mates with another one by highlights. For example myself and another girl/boy my height I would be with them if say I was attack I would get partnered with a defence around my height.

Now What: I could still improve on in netball is... I want to be more accurate in shooting when I'm attack because i'm always defence because i'm most good at that and I never get a chance to be attack.

Olympic post!

WHAT: We have been learning about the Olympics.

SO WHAT: I now know that in the Olympics refuges can compete. Instead  of holding they're flag they would hold the Olympic flag.

NOW WHAT: A sport I'd would like to compete in one day would be Netball. Because.... Netball is my favorite sport. I think it is very fun in Netball because it's fun hitting the ball away and shooting and catching the rebounds.

SO WHAT: I am a master at.....  Respecting my own and others property ( cloakroom )

NOW WHAT: I still need to work  on........ let the teacher know where you are going ( toilets )

Chapter summaries

This week room 6 & 5 (56 jump street) have started doing our Manila folders our

chapter summaries there the ones that aren't in our reading books (because those were drafts)

theses ones aren't (just saying I'm reading The Twits by Roald Dahl)

Music (guitar lessons)😀

I have finally decided to write about this😀! It's so much fun! last year (2014) I asked my

Mum if I could get a guitar for my 8th birthday and Mum kept saying we'll see.Febuary 12th

(My birthday) guess what I got I got a dan dan dan a guitar I was so happy it was a light 

blue guitar and we decided since I couldn't do guitar at school yet because it's yr 5 and up we 

decided that I would do private lessons with Rodger (mr Hamilton) so now I 

still do guitar (4.9.15) speaking of which I'm doing guitar today.Im learning two

pop songs (as in I'm not learning classic songs) I'm learning Taylor swift you belong with me 

and another song is brono Mars just the way you are so yeah it's really fun😃

I'm a milk monitor😀

Yay!  Guess what something a bit exciting has happened! I'm officially a milk monitor.  So what

a milk monitor is is this.  Since we have two milk fridges at school (Oaklands school)  Year 5 

I'm a year five we get too choose a class like a year one or two class we get too choose one of those 

classes to deliver the milk to because it saves them time to come all the way from their 

classes to grab themselves some milk so we just do it for them😃!!!.

Wonder

Room 5 and 6 (56 jump street) are reading this book

called Wonder.  It's about this boy called August some people call

him Auggie. August has a cleft palet so that means he doesn't

have a roof in his mouth and his lip goes up to his nose and he has some problems with his face.So then August went tooschool and lots of kids are being mean too him.

My next step is to add more detail

my maths

My maths! My maths has been quite interesting because my maths group
is called the Ruby Lipped Bat Fish or you can call it the Red Lipped Bat Fish so we well my whole
maths group has been busy with this thing called renaming when we are subtracting.


This is really pretty fun because you can do it with + or - so you have some
numbers on top of numbers and so this is what it looks like 1564

so if you can't do something you have to borrow something from next door so yeah.

My next step is to learn what to do when there is a '0' in the top number and I need to borrow from it.

I think it means….

I think that deeds are good things so lots and lots of people probably want deeds to happen to

them (good things)  I think this because if you are nice too someone they will probably be nice to you so

treat others as you would like to be treated. If you want to be treated nicely think about

how others want to be treated too. As in if you buy one of your friends a box of

chocolates they will obviously thank you and be nice to you and ask if you want anything to repay you.

this week

This week it has been fantastic because room 6 has been doing SRL!This week we have also
been busy with wait for it wait for it it has been very fun so far it is super novel
studies. I know it sounds really super duper boring. But on the bright side
it is super fun.So this is how you do novel studies.First
you get a book mine is the twits Miss H gives you a book and gives you a puzzle like thing
and you have to do this other stuff.My next step is to successfully complete my book

Full chill licence

I was so exited yesterday when it was Thursday because I received my full chill licence 

This is it

Octohorse

Boom! They crashed together the horse and the octopus crashed together because the

horse fell in the sea.Now they're one animal swimming in the summer side ocean.

Now they are called octohorse. We'll he is called octohorse.They have got to think outside the 

box the horse tried and tried to get the octopus out of the water 

but there was no use he couldn't he used all his muscles 

but it still didn't work! He tried calling for help but he remembers he couldn't speak so one

day there was a huge storm and the waves were going

wild.

They though that they would die sleeping in the ocean .The next day they found some sort

of potion in the sea so they decided to drink it.So they did and boom! They weren't 

octohorse any more they were octopus and horse.
